The story we would like to share with you springs from the combination of the life experience and passion of a group of young people from all over the world, who meet every year on the beach at Hikkaduwa to surf. The charm we experienced in this part of Sri Lanka remains within us like an unforgettable reality.
Amongst the surfing community, talking freely, the idea was born to give shape to the emotions which Hikkaduwa feeds us, and which is shared in the imagination of all. In our minds, the idea sprang from the spontaneity we found there; young people who love the sea and the enchanting scenery, experienced while wearing a bathing costume, a t-shirt and a pair of flip-flops. We chose these last to represent the imprint of all that pulled us together on the beach at Hikkaduwa. What is more, Sri Lanka is one of those countries where rubber trees are found and the so the project started to take on a clear form.
From that small talk on the beach to this day, four years have passed and now, HIKKADUWA is a reality. We are represented in over 400 sales outlets in Italy and in the most important Department Stores of the sector. At the international level, we are found in more than 20 countries spread over three continents. The company includes amongst its staff, highly experienced professionals and some of the most “brilliant” talents in the world of fashion. Our “vision” today has developed through the originality and uniqueness of our flip-flops and also of our beachwear line. Professionalism and experience have been important, but what mostly distinguishes us is that, while wearing our articles, the daily enthusiasm we put into everything we do can be “felt”.
